INTERNSHIP

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who bring energy, passion, and a true listening-based approach to create a fantastic student experience. Interns must be coachable, willing to work hard and have a ‘YES!’ mindset. This is a very competitive internship program – interns are vital to the success of OBA. True to the OBA mission, there will be experiential learning, mentorship, and leadership opportunities that set you apart from your peers in your education, career and beyond.

We have two positions available for this internship program: a Lead Intern and a Regular Intern. The Lead Intern will work closely with OBA staff to execute programming and act as the voice of the intern group. The Regular Intern will work collaboratively with the Lead and other interns to ensure a safe and fantastic student experience. Highly qualified applicants will be considered for the Lead Intern positions.

 

BENEFITS
  • $1,000 (Regular) and $1,500 (Lead) stipend plus a $500 bonus if you attend both weeks.

TIME COMMITMENT
  • Estimated 90 hours, at Oregon State University.  

  • May also include up to 4 hours of virtual training in the weeks leading up to Business Week.​

  • Takes on any task with ownership and positivity

  • Performs under pressure and enjoys a challenge

  • Takes boundaries and discretion seriously  

  • Willing to confront situations boldly and prepared to resolve conflict 

 

REGULAR INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure a safe, fantastic high school student experience. 

  • Lead student check-in and check-out

  • Stock company room(s) with supplies and maintain organization

  • Work with assigned Intern Team for the week

  • Lead and supervise group activities, life balance and workshops

  • Identify individual and team conflict quickly and escalate them appropriately

  • Reports to Program Manager to support a Company Advisor with the engagement of student activities

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to attend all trainings and Business Week for the entire week 

  • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus

  • Experience as a Residence Advisor is a plus

  • Coursework in college business classes is a plus​

  • Additional for Lead Intern: Must have prior Business Week experience
